3 More Weeks!

I am so excited to get this baby out! I have scheduled my c-section for the 21st of January and am counting down the days. I do have to say that I am not one that enjoys being pregnant but I am excited for the end result! I know that it is cheesy to take pictures of yourself when you are pregnant but I really do want to remember this down the road.

Halloween Fun!

We had such a great time this year at Halloween. The kids were so lucky and got to do fun things. We started the day out with a T-ball game for Luke which he did really well at. He loves playing and he has a really cute team (and coach!). We have some really nice neighbors that the kids play with and they invited them to go to a carnival at the park right by our house. They had a ton of fun at that. They got free cotton candy, they pet a pony, they got lots of candy, and they got all kinds of gift certificates for free food! Then we were off to our friends for some dinner and trick-or-treating. We have such great friends here and we are so lucky that we have kids that are the same ages. Haylee went this year as a spider web witch and Luke was Wolverine from X-Men. As soon as that was all over we came home and the kids passed out candy to kids in our neighborhood till about 9:00. I tell you what I cant stand the older kids that come by and are so rude. They even smashed our pumpkins. I told my kids that when they think they are too old to go without parents then that means they are done trick-or-treating. I just hope they aren't 16 and still want us to come with them! Cant wait for the next holiday to come!

Pumpkins

We had a fun time this year carving our pumpkins. Haylee picked out a pattern of a with face and then the other half is to look like a half moon. She did a really good job and did most of it on her own. Luke and Seth did a bat theme and it turned out really good too. I love this time of year and cant wait to trick-or-treat tomorrow

McCalls Pumpkin Patch!

I know that we are only in the first week of October but we had Peggy and Larry come to visit us and we thought it would be fun to go to the pumpkin patch. We saw this really fun one on our way up to Carlsbad about a month ago and have been waiting to go. It was so much fun and there was so much for the kids to do. They had a corn maze which took us forever to find our way out, a big jump thing, pumpkin slingshots, cute slides, some fun bike things to ride on, haystacks to climb, cute little bunny houses that had real bunnies hopping around, hayrides, and more. We spent about 4 hours there and didn't get to do it all. I love the holiday time and I am looking forward to carving a pumpkin soon

T-Ball Time

Luke just started playing t-ball and loves it. Seth got roped into being the coach because there weren't any other parents that were able to so it has been fun to see my boys play. Luke is doing really well and loves to hit the ball. He is getting better at catching but that is the boring part of course. He looks so handsome in his uniform and he has a really cute team with lots of friends from our ward. Keep up the good work Luke

MLK Fun

The kids school was doing a hot air balloon launch from their playground field to kick of the the coming week of the Balloon Fiesta Celebration. We had to wake up pretty early to see them launch off 4 balloons from the field. What a fun experience! The balloons are huge and just so pretty. I got a little teary when I saw them up so close. The school was selling donuts and hot chocolate which made the experience even better! This is such a fun place to live and be right now with the perfect weather and the fun new things to see and do.

Its A.................................

BOY!!!! We are super excited to announce that we will be having a baby boy coming in January. We cant wait and are hoping that everything will be smooth sailing from here. I am a little nervous to start all over again but cant wait to see the little face of this boy. If you have any cute name ideas I would love to hear them. So far Luke really wants us to name him Vader so clearly we need some help on the names. Wish us luck!

Carlsbad Caverns

We were lucky enough to get a quick trip in this weekend before the kids start school on Wednesday. We got invited to go to Carlsbad with some friends from the ward to go see the caves and the bats!!! We decided to stay at a KOA campground in a cute little cabin Friday night which was also the night that we went to go see the bats. We got up to the caverns around 7:00pm to watch them come out of the cave. It really was so neat. They say that there are a couple hundred thousands of bats that fly out of the cave. I am sad that we couldn't take pictures but that would scare the bats and I wasn't willing to take the chance that they would fly at me and get me for taking a picture:) The next morning we woke up and checked out of the cabin and we were on our way up to explore the caves ourselves. Holy cow is all I have to say. I started to panic at first and my legs were shaking because I was sure that someone was going to fall over the sides. We walked 750ft down to the bottom of the cave and it was amazing. It took about 2hrs or so to walk through and thank goodness we got to take an elevator back up. The kids had so much fun and thought that we were in Batman's cave! They loved sleeping in a cabin but I am thinking that is because we brought stuff to make smores...... yummy! We are so glad that we got a chance to go with friends and see things that were just amazing and beautiful.

Santa Fe

Seth has been doing some research on fun things that we could do on the weekends and he came up with the idea for us to take the a train ride to Santa Fe, New Mexico. The train ride was about an 1hr and 15min and it was a double decker train. The kids had alot of fun and thought it was so neat to go through tunnels and see the horses and cows in the fields. When we got there we went to a restaurant called "Flying Star" which was really yummy and it was actually the grand opening so they were sampling all of their desserts. After lunch we walked around for about 30mins and then we were back on the train. It was a super fun thing to do but I tell ya I would never want to live there. It seems to be a really hippy, earthy town that is way out of my liking:) I am definitely a city girl!!!!

Mohawk

Seth has been asking for a few days if he could cut Lukes hair to be a Mohawk. I made him wait until after church today and told him that he will have to cut it off by Saturday so he will look like a nice boy for church next Sunday. Luke loves it! He thinks that it is so cool and I think he looks so cute:) I just might let him keep it for the summer!

Whoa!

That was all I could say when I saw the picture Haylee was drawing during sacrament meeting. She was looking at her hand trying to copy what her hand looked like. I took the note pad from her and asked her if she knew what it meant to have the middle finger sticking out and she had not idea. I tried to explain to her as quietly as I could that it is not a nice thing to stick your middle finger at anyone because it means bad things. She almost started crying because she had no idea she just was noticing that her middle finger was longer:) I just couldn't resist taking a picture because it was too funny. I am so glad that she didn't hold it up to show me otherwise the people behind us in sacrament could have gotten a litte offended!

Batter Up

Awhile back when I was lost trying to find the place to get Haylee her glasses I found a batting cage and have been wanting to take the kids ever since. Well today was such a nice day we had a little breeze and it was a high of 75 degrees so what better time to give it a try. We got about half way there and looked at the kids and they were both wearing flip flops so we had to turn around to get tennis shoes on and we were off again. I must say I was very nervous that Haylee was going to hurt herself somehow but she did great. Luke did really well too. He really is such a natural at doing most sports and he had so much fun. I actually got in there myself and it was super fun. I cant wait to go back. What a fun thing to do during the summer to keep busy. The guy working there was really nice because of course I still had flip flops on but he said I could go anyways. He must have seen my talent in my eyes! Seth unfortunately didn't get to take a turn because he threw out his back at work and could barley stand. Luke has been talking about it all day and I am so glad that they both had fun.

Field Day Fun!

The kids were so excited this year to participate in field day. They both got to compete in to events and then also got to do the tug-o-war with their class. Luke's field day was on Monday and first up was the scooter race. I totally remember having those scooters when I was a kid and loved doing them in P.E.. Next up was the bean bag toss. He managed to get 9 out of the 10 bags in the whole. He got first place in that. Way to go bud. You know what he actually did three events. He told me that he also did the 50 meter run and got first place even though he tripped and fell down. All the kids were getting their faces painted by the 5th graders and he asked for a skull. Pretty small but hey he was excited. Luke did such a great job and had such a fun day. His class got 2nd place in in the all around events. They had some other really fun events that he didn't get to do like the pie eating contest, the licorice game, donut eating contest, toe fishing, water balloon toss, and many more. As for Haylee, well I was a little nervous for her as she is a little clumsy. Her events were the centipede and slip-n-slide baseball. They finished 2nd in the centipede and man that looked hard. She got a little whole in her shorts from dragging her bum across the field. I thinks her favorite of all though was the slip-n-slide baseball. She got soaking wet. Her class lost in the tug-o-war but barley. Over all though her class got 2nd too. It was so fun to see the kids having fun with their classmates and being silly.

GROSS!!!!!!!!

So this morning while I was blow drying Haylees hair she just happened to get a hair in her mouth and right after she pulled it out she said..............."You know mom I really think that the lunch ladies should have to wear hair nets because there is always hair in the food at school"................... What are you kidding me that is disgusting. I thought that it was mandatory for them to wear those things. I know they did in Las Vegas. I am a little annoyed because I just sent her into school with a $20.00 check yesterday for lunches and I hate to waste the money but eating nasty hair is just wrong right? Anyways I know this is gross but I thought this would be funny to read in a couple of years:)

1/2 Day Fun!

Well I survived another half day with the kids. The weather on Wednesday was super cold and really windy so we had to stay inside so I made sure I planned ahead and was ready to entertain my kids. I went to target earlier that morning and bought some play dough for the kids to do and a box of Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheat's cereal because I found a recipe the other day that I wanted to try. I must say that the day was a success and the time flew by. I actually sat down and played with the kids and made some things with the play dough and I was really impressed with the their imaginations. Haylee made a really cute hamburger that looked real. I made a girl and then we thought it would be fun to put play dough on Luke. I think that we sat and played with it for 2 hours!!!! When we were done with that it was time to move on to the cookies. The recipe was a peanut butter cookie but it was made with crushed up mini wheat's. I thought they were super yummy and was just proud of myself that I ate only 3. I need to get rid of the rest of them though because they are very tempting. I am already thinking of what I am going to do next week. I hope that we will have better weather because that makes things so much nicer. What am I going to do in the summer???? I will have to take a visit to Arizona and Vegas right:)

Before and After

I cant believe that my 9 year old has to wear glasses. It just seems so crazy to me. Haylee came home a couple of weeks ago from school with a not from the school nurse saying that she had a hard time on the eye exam and that we should check it out. So that is what I did. I took her last week to the eye doctor to get an exam that I must say was very thorough and sure enough she is near sided and has to wear glasses. We just got home yesterday from Arizona and this morning when she woke up she was right by my bed asking if we could finally go and pick up here glasses. I think she looks super cute with them although I do wish she didn't have to have them but she loves them and thinks they are the coolest things ever. By the end of the night she was complaining of a headache so she will have to adjust.

Leprechaun Trap

So Haylee came home last week with a school project to do. Apparently there are Leprechauns running around there school and they were to come up with a trap to catch them and then write two paragraphs telling how the trap works and what they would do if they caught one. I told Seth that he was all over this one. We went out to Michael's to find the stuff we needed and I found some stuff in my scrapbook area and they were ready to start. Seth brought home a box that was perfect and Haylee had fun painting it green. I got to make the Lucky Charms path on the side and made the cute four leaf clovers that are sticking up. We found some cute little coins to put in the pot that Haylee painted black and we glued on of the coins to a string for the trap door. We actually all had a really good time making this and I think it turned out pretty cute. Luke got a blister from the glue gun but was excited to put a band aid on it so that was okay. I have to tell you what Haylee put down in her paragraph of what she would do if she caught a Leprechaun. First she would tell him to take her to his gold and give her three wishes. So her first wish was that she got to have 3 more wishes. Second was to have a pet bunny(thanks Jen). Third was to have a pet pony. Fourth was to get Rock Band. And of course last was that she wants a baby sister. Seriously she would be so happy if I made that one come true. Anyways here are some cute pictures of the project.

Hoots

Have I mentioned yet on my blog how much I do not like having half day school days. Well I am saying it now. Every Wednesday is half day here and the kids get out at noon. Wednesdays are such long days for us all. I have really been trying to take the kids to do fun things on those days and take advantage of the weather. Last week went to a couple of parks and I had bought a Frisbee to throw around. The kids had alot of fun but this week was much better. I found a coupon to get one kid in free to this big jump place and I thought they would have so much fun. The place is called Hoots and they have quite a few huge jump things and slides that the kids could go crazy on. Within the first 10 minutes Haylee and Luke were sweating up a storm. I even took my shoes off and played around with them and went down the slides. It was super cheap and now that I know how to drive there I will totally go again.

Fresh Air!!!

We finally made it out of our house Saturday afternoon!!!!! Haylee got sick last Friday and was out of school for a week and so of course that means that Luke got sick and was home a couple of days and then Seth and I got the tail end of it. I have learned so many things in that short I mean long week of sick kids.
1. Having a 2 story house with the master bedroom on the main floor is not fun when
you have to get up every 2 minutes to make sure everything is okay and the kis have
what they need.
2. Not having insurance is very stressful and I cant wait until Seths 90 days is up
so I can take my kids to the doctor when needed.(even though there wasn't anything
a doctor could do for me because it was viral but still...)
3. How thankful I am to my Uncle Bob who is a doctor in Arizona that put up with me
calling him at 1:00a.m. to see what I should do and all the other times I called
him. He was so nice and reassuring that everything that was going on was normal.
4. How grateful I am for my friend Tracy who I also called at 1:00a.m. to see what I
should do.
5. How grateful I am to be in the ward that I am in. We have a doctor in our ward
as well and he was kind enough to let us come to his house and check out my kids.
He was very helpful and gave lots of good advice and again reassured my that it
was all normal.
6. Praying to our Heavenly Father works! He listens to our prayers!!!!!

I know you all think that I am crazy but seriously I have never had kids that sick before. We have had like the little 24-48 bugs but not this viral thing. Anyways I will also admit that I am a spaz and freak out when kids get sick too. I am glad to say though that things are on the up. Haylee still has a horrible cough but her throat is better and Luke is pretty much the same. Seth doesn't have a voice right now and I just have a raw nose right now but am doing fine.

So my point to this post is that yesterday we thought we would take the advantage of getting out of the house for the first time in a week and we decided that we weren't strong enough for something to physical so we went to see where the temple was. It was so pretty and just peaceful where it is located. The kids were hoping that it had a visitors center like the Mesa Temple but that was a no go. Anyways we just walked around and took a few pictures and then went to get a bite to eat. When we were done with that I took Haylee to the mall to buy Haylee a new pair of earrings that I had to bribe her with just to take some medicine earlier in the week. I was desperate..... When we were done with that we went to go see Bolt at the dollar theaters. By night time Haylee went to bed with a bad tummy ache and a headache and Luke was coughing up a storm. It was still worth it. The fresh air was so nice and the sun was nice as well. Lets hope for good things this week and I look forward to lots more fresh air.
