Sad News!

Well the bug guy came the other day and our praying mantis is dead. I even asked the guy when he came to spray if it would kill him and he said that as long as he stays up high he would be okay. There must have been a really yummy looking bug that he just had to have and went down to the ground. The kids were really sad as was I but I do have good news from this. WE HAVE A NEW ONE! Hopefully this one will eat the bugs up high:) I don't think I will name him though because I think we will go through too many.

Watching Over Us!

We have the cutest praying mantis that is always in our doorway watching us. It has been there for several weeks and we love looking for it. When we leave our house we will see where it is at and by the time we get home it has moved to a different place. I swear that it really watches us. It moves the direction we move every time we watch it. Seth thinks that it is just waiting for the perfect time to come in the house but I think that it just likes us and knows that we need lots of prayers:) I hope that it stays around because I like it and it is really cool looking up close. I was thinking about giving it a name. Any suggestions please feel free to leave a comment.

Mt. Charleston!

A couple of weekends ago we decided to head up to the mountains for a little change of weather. It was so pretty up there and the weather was perfect. The kids had alot of fun just running around and finding alot of pine cones. We climbed up a couple of hills and it was starting to get a little scary for me and at times I wondered how we were going to get down.
I could never go on "Fear Factor" apparently I have height issues. Anyways we packed a couple of snacks and had fun munching on them in the back of Seths truck. We cant wait until the snow comes because we found some good hills to go sledding on(too bad it is still in the mid
90's) I can wish right:)

Party City Fun!

The kids have been begging to go and look at costumes so we decided that we would go and check out Party City. They have sooooo many choices for costumes and the kids and Seth of course had a lot of fun trying on all the masks and wigs. Right now Haylee is wanting to be Daphne from Scooby Doo and Luke isn't sure. There are just so many choices and it is just to hard to narrow it down for now. I was thinking that it would be fun to dress up this year and I was thinking that it would be fun to be the green M&M.(really I just want to wear long white boots:) It's crazy to go to the stores and see all the holiday stuff they have and we are so far away I do love this time of year though because it starts to cool down and you get to make yummy treats!.

Note to Self!

DO NOT WATCH TLC DURING THE DAY!!!!! I have gone through so many tissues and I just cant stop crying. Can anyone watch A baby story of Adoption stories without crying. Man it just makes you think and be so grateful for so many reason. First on is that I know that I will now have to give birth and feel that pain anymore. Second that I have healthy kids that I love. Third that I was able to have children of my own and not feel the pain that people who adopt may feel. I am blessed:)

Little Pastry Chefs!

We are always looking for something to do on the weekends and it seems like the only things we can ever think of is a movie or bowling. Well today my friend Jen called and said that she was thinking about taking her kids to this cute pastry shop to make a treat or two so we decided to tag along. The kids had so much fun. First they gave all the kids their own ball of sugar cookie dough that they got to roll out and use cookie cutters to do fun shapes with. When they were done with that they went into the oven and they brought out the jumbo cupcakes that they were going to frost. They all started out with white frosting and got to put food coloring in by themselves to make whatever color they wanted. It was fun to see how much fun they were having and I think the best part of it was was that we got to leave the mess there. We will for sure be going back for some more fun. Here are some pictures of their yummy treats!

First Day of School!!!

Well I only cried four times. Can you believe that I am home alone now for the whole day. Haylee started 3rd grade this year and Luke started 1st grade. They both seemed pretty excited to see if they would like their new teacher and to see who was in their classes. Haylee had one friend that was in her class last year and she was happy about that. Luke actually had quite a few kids that we in kindergarten with him so I was glad for that. I really started to panic when I left this morning from dropping them off hoping that Luke mostly would be okay. I was hoping that he would be able to open all his snacks in his lunch by himself, I was worried that if he had to go to the bathroom would he tell his teacher(6 hrs is alot longer than 2 1/2 hrs.) I just got so nervous that I cried all the way to the gym. Thank goodness the gym is close so I had to pull myself together. As for me well I went and weighed in this morning at Weight Watchers and that was not a pretty sight so I decided that I better spend more time at the gym seeing that I have nothing else to do. I started off with a kick box class that is really good and then I headed into the gym and ran 3 1/2 miles and then rode the bike for 6 miles. I was super tired when I got home so I treated myself to a nice hot bath. What a day huh? Have I made anyone jealous yet. Lets just say that I hope that the kids are having a good day and that they will have a successful year and love their teachers and then for me, well I hope that I can lose the last bit of weight that I have set my goal at and then I will be working for Weight Watchers while my kids are at school. I cant wait!!!!

Trevor said.........

Today Haylee found the bag of hot Cheetos in the pantry that I had bought like a month ago because she had been begging me forever to buy them. She would come home everyday from school and tell me that she traded her fruit gushers for her friend Trevors hot Cheetos at lunch time and they were so yummy and we had to buy them. Well I did and of course she tried them and thought they were nasty and too hot. I felt bad throwing them away and they found their way to the back of the pantry and she found them today and took them out to eat. I told her that she didn't like them and asked her why she was going to eat them and she said "Trevor said you have to age them and then they taste better" so she gave it a try and can you guess where they are. THE GARBAGE!!!! It amazes me how they can make up such bogus lines to tell you when they really want something. I thought this line was pretty good.

Makeover Fun!

This one is for you Alison. I was looking through my pictures the other day and I found this one of Luke. He is way more made over than Rex and he still like to play cars and video games so I thinks its okay. I just think that its part of having older sisters and I love it. He really is a pretty boy dont you think. You know I am just giving you a hard time:)

Matchy Matchy!

Seth and I got ready this morning for church and for the first time ever we matched eachother. Kindof crazy huh. Seth bought his shirt and pants yesterday and so it was just by fluke that we were coordinated. We had a couple people come up to us at church and tell us we were cute and to take a picture so I thought what the heck it would be nice to remember this done the road. Thanks to Haylee for the lovely picture taking:)
